Product configurators
Related to the TCO calculator is the product configurator, as a simplified configurator tool is usually the core of the TCO calculation. In some circumstances it makes sense to expose the configurator as well, particularly in products or product ranges where a great deal of customization is possible. Just as with the calculator, the configurator allows the customer to plug in his own numbers and get a result that is relevant to his or her needs. This is of course a great way to generate qualified sales leads and to let your sales teams have an idea of what the customer really wants, shortening the sales cycle and improving customer satisfaction.
